Being Neighbourly

Henrik is the German guy who lives next door, and this winter a stray cat adopted him. It tried to adopt my family too, but my husband's allergies are too severe to risk having him live with a cat again.

Earlier this week Henrik gave me his key, showed me the pile of food he'd bought for Kitty and went to Germany for a month. I told him I'd e-mail him updates on the cat, so he'd know how it is doing. What the heck, I might as well blog it, eh?

I am also a Canadian runner (Edmonton), not Calgary and strangely enough my cat also has a blog, where he shares his thoughts, emotions, etc. Check us both out if you get a chance. Cat blog is Fat Eddy and his Freakout.blogspot.com

I love this kitty!
I was wondering where the new profile pic came from!

Bill used to be an open flap cat-door cat & he NEVER used the indoor catbox I set up for him.
Then when we had a very big snowstorm one winter, poor Bill, he wouldn't "go" outside - he'd just prowl around looking for something that was recognisable (NOTHING was recognisable, we were BURIED in snow. RARE for this part of the state) as his landscape, give up and come back inside, and he'd "hold it".

He FINALLY had to pee next to my potted plants, & dig the dirt out of the pot to bury his deed. That's what got him busted - wet spots of potting soil mud on the kitchen floor.

But when I cleaned it up, and brought over that indoor catbox and put it right THERE - he finally "got it". And I filled in the top the potted plants' pots with pinecones, so Bill couldn't dig the soil out from around the roots!

Now he's indoors exclusively, and I have to buy & change the cat litter!
